The Ribosome Builder Project aims to simulate the dynamic behavior of the ribosomal
translational machinery. A secondary goal is the establishment of an open source project for
developing modular, reusable, portable and documented software components and frameworks
for structural and dynamical molecular modeling.
The project has been implemented in the C++, Lua and Perl programming languages and uses the
Qt and OpenGL libraries for the graphical interface.
The project was created by William Knight for
fulfillment of his doctoral degree in biochemistry in the Hill/Lodmell lab at
the University of Montana.
